Lisa R. Cahn

Lisa began her private practice of law in the commercial real estate industry in 2004. Lisa’s work includes both landlord and tenant representation in numerous types of leasing transactions at shopping centers, offices, airports and motorways. Lisa has substantial experience negotiating/working with and against developers, landlords, tenants, governmental entities, port authorities and airlines.

Prior to returning to private practice, Lisa spent a significant portion of her career leading the airport division legal department for one of the largest global developers, providing counsel for both its existing business and business development groups. Lisa has extensive airport and public private partnership knowledge and experience, working and negotiating with unions, disadvantaged businesses (ACDBEs), negotiating agreements relating to digital platforms and data, and responding to, and drafting, Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

A well-respected professional in the industry, Lisa is often a speaker at the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Law Conference, sharing her leasing expertise in shopping centers and unique retail settings with her peers.

When Lisa is not working, she can be found outside with her two boys, on the sidelines, cheering on her older son’s football, baseball and basketball teams, while enjoying the disc jockey skills of her younger son. A Maryland native, when the youth sports end, Lisa becomes a spectator of basketball games at the University of Maryland. Lisa gets her determination and resilience from her mother, and her daily inspiration from the words of her father and late grandfather - the harder you work, the luckier you get.

It is not in doing what you like, but in liking what you do that is the secret of happiness.
